Lesson 12 - Plurals

The general rule for converting a singular noun to the plural form is:

Plural = Noun + కళ్

Two exceptions are:

Nouns ending in a long vowel add క్కళ్
Nouns ending in మ్ change the మ్ to న్ upon addition of కళ్

మరమ్ - మరంగళ్ - చెట్లు
నిలా - నిలాక్కళ్ - వెన్నెలలు?
పూ - పూక్కళ్ - పూలు

విళా - విళాక్కళ్ - parties
వీడు - వీడుగళ్ - houses
మీన్ - మీన్గళ్ - fish
కణ్ - కణ్గళ్ - eyes
కాల్ - కాల్గళ్ - feet
పడమ్ - పడంగళ్ - pictures
పళమ్ - పళంగళ్ - fruit
ఈ - ఈక్కళ్ - flies

they will buy pens - అవర్గళ్ పేనాక్కళ్ వాంగువార్గళ్
mother will pluck flowers - అమ్మా పూక్కళై పరిప్పాళ్ (pluck - 6 - పరి)
a goat chases the students - ఒర్ ఆడు మాణవర్గళై తురత్తదు (మాణవర్ - student, తురత్తు - chase -3)
the students will chase the dog - మాణవర్గళ్ నాయై తురత్తువార్గళ్
