Lesson 5 - Direct Objects

Direct object of most nouns ending in ఉ is formed by adding ఐ.

ఉణవు - ఉణవై

పందు - పందై

కదవు - కదవై

For nouns ending in ఇ, ఈ and ఐ, the direct object is formed by adding యై

పెట్టి - పెట్టియై

తీ - తీయై

శట్టై - శట్టైయై

Nouns ending in all other vowels add వై to form the direct object

అమ్మా - అమ్మావై

పూ - పూవై

Write the direct object of the following nouns:

దువ్వెన - సీప్పు - సీప్పై

నాన్న - అప్పా - అప్పావై

చెయ్యి - కై - కైయై

కత్తి - కత్తి - కత్తియై

చెవి - కాదు - కాదై

ఈగ - ఈ - ఈయై

వెన్నెల - నిలా - నిలావై

పని - వెలై - వెలైయై

Translate:

The fly sees you - ఈ ఉన్నై పాక్కిరదు

I see the fly - నాన్ ఈయై పాక్కిరేన్

He opens the box - అవన్ పెట్టియై తిరక్కిరాన్

Open this door! - కదవై తిరు?

We (నాంగళ్) eat the food - నాంగళ్ ఉణవై ఉణ్గిరోమ్

She buys that shirt - అవళ్ అంద శట్టై వాంగుకిరాళ్

You touch father - నీ అప్పావై తొడుగిరాయ్

I throw the flower outside - నాన్ పూవై వెలియే ఎరిగిరేన్

It touches the moon - అదు నిలావై తొడుగిరదు
